Language speaks volumes, only if you stop to hear
While waiting in line to grab lunch from the Vietnamese eatery in SOMA, hearing another language brought memories of our trip to Europe.
Language is beautiful, it connects people together and at the same time alienates those who don’t know the language. It’s funny how a language can do both — bring people closer and distance them at the same time. It’s like the coders cult — all coders unite!
Google Translate was our best friend when there was no English menu in restaurants in Spain, France and Italy. We just realized how we took English for granted and little did we know the world around the corner has their own ways.
Each day is an experience, teaching new ways and living styles. Embrace it.
What are some of the things you wish you hadn’t taken for granted and just realized how important it is for you?
