Amit Gandotra was the chief operating officer at the Fashion Design Council of India. He passed away on 15 February 2024 when he leaped from the 19th floor of a tower in Noida’s Lotus Boulevard society in sector 100. He oversaw FDCI orchestrating events, and fostering collaboration among designers and industry stakeholders.

Amit graduated from Victoria University in Australia. He had been associated with numerous media groups prior to his tenure at FDCI. He used to work as the National Head of Brands Promotion at Hindustan Times before working at FDCI. He also worked at Bennett Coleman and Co.
