In continuation of the Apple WWDC 2020 Keynote Highlights — Part I, we will see other updates from Apple. And wait for the big announcement from Apple.

AirPods:

  • Spatial Audio: Being a Musciophile I was so fascinated to know about the spatial surrounded simulation(Only compatible with AirPods Pro). Head position is considered and AirPod’s built-in accelerometers enable the audio to be heard as fixed.
  • Auto device switch: Auto Device switch between multiple devices.

Homekit:

  • Face recognition: Now you get to know who is at your door using Homekit doorbell cameras through facial recognition identifies known faces.
  • Adaptive lighting: Auto-brightness/temperature adjustment of smart bulbs based on the time of the day.
  • Activity Zones: Allowing to set limit the area on the security video coverage.

Privacy Changes:

  • Approximate location Permission: Instead of providing precise location now we can give app rough approximate location.
  • Mic/Camera Access indicator: On-screen indicator when the app accesses the phone’s mic or camera.
  • Privacy policies: Before downloading any app from app stores now App developers have to give simple details of what user data been tracked and shared with third parties.

Before getting into the big Apple announcement one more thing to know is Apple TV now bringing support for Xbox Elite 2 wireless controller and the Xbox Adaptive controller. Apple TV also supports multiuser in Apple Arcade. We can now easily switch profiles in it. And they did run the trailer of the new upcoming apple tv show FOUNDATION. Seems promising.

Apple Silicon

Tada!!!! Apple brings new silicon for its future Macs. It is now moving away from Intel processors to custom in-house ARM-based CPUs. They claim their focus is to bring the next level of performance with less power consumed, and Apple’s Secure Enclave is coming to the Mac. Also, iOS apps can be run in mac which is a huge deal.
