Hiring process in 2017
There’s kind of trend right know — talk about hiring process in IT (Software Engineering, in particular). So, let me share my experience on this topic. For the last couple of months I’m actively looking for a new remote position. And during that process I got the feeling that something is broken in it.
I fully understand, that taking new person aboard is always risky for an employer. At the same time, each company wants you to write a unique essay (cover letter), answer unique set of questions, solve special assessment, pass through 5+ stages of an interview and so on and so on. It takes a lot of time and effort to do it for one company and what if for 5 or 10 companies? And no one cares that it’s risky for an employee too.
Discussion of how to improve this process is another big topic. And as first step I just want to highlight the fact — there’s no 100% working method to match employer and employee (at least for now).
