Collect the most cards by being the first to spot the combinations! This game mode also includes a Dizzy Dice variation!

Catch ‘n Snatch is made in collaboration with Daniel from Dice Daniel!

Introduction

In Catch ‘n Snatch, players collect their cards by being the first to call the combination seen in the middle. The player with the most Lizzy Points at the end wins!

Valid & invalid Lizzy combinations!

Game mechanics

The Dizzy Lizzy must always at least satisfy one of the following four combination conditions:

1. All colours are the same
2. All colours are different
3. All patterns are the same
4. All patterns are different

If the Lizzy combination exists out of three golden cards, it’s a Special Dizzy Lizzy.

Preparation

  1. All Dizzy Lizzy cards are sorted into 3 piles, one of the head cards, one of the body cards, and one of the tail cards.
  2. The 3 piles are shuffled and put in sequence in the middle of the table (heads pile — bodies pile — tails pile), and the piles are put upside down!

Gameplay

  1. The 3 stacks are flipped at the same time, and all players can start calling combinations they see, if there is no combination to be seen the player calls ‘incorrect’.
  2. The player that is first to call a combination (or ‘incorrect’) may grab one card of choice from the middle piles. This will continue until one of the middle stacks runs empty.
  3. When all cards have been grabbed, the players compose their Lizzies for maximum points. They get 1 point per Lizzy without combination. 2 per correct Lizzy combination. And 3 per Special Dizzy Lizzy combination. The player with the most Lizzy points wins!

Game rules

  • Error penalty — When a player makes a wrong call, the player has to put his/her last grabbed card back under the right (head, body, or centre) stack.

Game variant: Dicey Catch ‘n Snatch!

A variation on Catch ‘n Snatch can be played in combination with the Dizzy Dice! The goal remains the same, but instead of looking at three piles in the middle, all players are looking at one big mixed pile with all head-, body-, and tail cards mixed in. Now, the players take turns throwing the Dizzy Dice (all 3 of them), and all look to be the first to catch a combination (of head-, body-, and tail — meaning one random dice will be irrelevant to the to-be-spotted combination). When a player catches a combination and calls it, the player takes the open card from the middle pile. This unveils the next card and it’s the next player’s turn to throw the Dizzy Dice. This continues until all cards are snatched! — One important difference between the Dizzy Dice variation and the only cards variation is the ‘no combination rule’, if there is no combination thrown in this game variant players don’t win the card by calling ‘incorrect’ but the turn to throw simply goes to the next player.
