Collaborate to complete this Sudoku-style Lizzy Challenge.

Have a look at a 6 player play of Dizzy-Docu!

Introduction

Dizzy-Docu is a challenge to tackle together; best enjoyed with 4+ players, the more players, the merrier! Together, you will take on the challenge of completing a 3x3 nine-card grid that displays five correct Lizzies — both horizontally and diagonally!

Work together to crack this puzzle that’s different every time you play!

Goal of the game

With Dizzy-Docu, all players collaborate to try to re-shape a grid of 3x3 Lizzy cards so that the grid displays five correct Lizzies; three correct Lizzies horizontally facing the same direction and two correct Lizzies diagonally.

Correct Lizzies, in this game mode the golden background plays no role.

Correct Lizzies

A correct Lizzy always displays at least one of the following for combination conditions:

  1. All colours are the same
  2. All colours are different
  3. All patterns are the same
  4. All patterns are different

Preparation

  1. Shuffle all the cards, and randomly lay 9 cards open in the middle of the middle of the table in a 3x3 grid.
  2. Give each player a few cards blind, the number of cards to be given per player depends on the number of players:
    - Under six players, each player receives three cards
    - From six players and up, each player receives two cards
  3. The players may now look at their cards, but they may never share with the other players what cards they have in their hands.
  4. All leftover cards are placed on a blind stack on the side.

How it’s played

The players take turns clockwise, each turn, the player must exchange one card of the grid with one card in his/her hand. The player may only exchange a body card from their hand with a card from the vertical midsection of the grid, and the player may only exchange a head card with a card from the vertical left section of the grid — depending on where the player is sitting this might be the right side for the player; as long as all players play heads on the same side of the grid. The same applies to the tail cards. During play, the players may discuss strategy, but they may at no point disclose the cards they have in their hand — even if they were previously seen on the grid (maybe the others could have remembered them?)

Rules are meant to be… discussed!

Game rules

  1. Always exchange — Each player must exchange a card from their hand with a card on the grid at every turn, even if they would prefer not to do so.
  2. No free grabbies — A player may only exchange a head card from their hand with a head place on the grid, a body part from their hand with a body part on the grid, and a tail part from their hand with a tail part on the grid.
  3. Private cards — Players may talk, but at no moment may they reveal the cards they currently have in their hands.
  4. Final escape — When the group feels it's stuck, it may decide to allow a player to lay down a penalty card and grab a new card from the blind stack, changing the cards in play. But probably this should not be necessary!
