CHRISTOPHER NKUNKU

Christopher Nkunku, born on November 14, 1997, is a French footballer who currently plays as an attacking midfielder for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. The 25-year-old footballer has become an integral part of the Leipzig team since his arrival in 2019 and is often regarded as one of the most promising young talents in European football.

Nkunku began his professional career with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2015, where he spent four years playing under the likes of Unai Emery and Thomas Tuchel. During his time with PSG, he won several domestic honors, including four Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France titles, and two Coupe de la Ligue titles. At PSG, he also gained experience in Europe’s elite competition, the UEFA Champions League, where he scored against Liverpool in the group stages.

In 2019, Nkunku made a move to RB Leipzig for a reported fee of €13 million. Since his arrival, he has been fantastic for Leipzig, contributing with goals and assists regularly. On several occasions, he was instrumental in helping his team secure crucial victories on the domestic front. In the 2020–21 season, Nkunku played a crucial role in guiding Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they narrowly lost to Paris Saint-Germain.

Nkunku’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, and he has earned several accolades for his performances. In May 2021, he was named the Bundesliga Player of the Month after scoring five goals in just four games.

Despite his young age, Nkunku has already established himself as a vital player for RB Leipzig, and his potential to become one of Europe’s elite attacking midfielders is evident. With age on his side, he has many years ahead of him to further develop his skills and become a football superstar.
