2016 begins
And so does my resolution: reflect and write every day in the new year. So here I am.
I’ve never been big on resolutions but as I briefly looked back on 2015, a lot of good thoughts and feelings buzzed around in my head. But that was it — just a lot of buzzing. I couldn’t hone in on the many great things that have happened. So here I am now, with anyone who cares to read these posts, trying to avert moments like that in the future.
To keep it brief, 2015 was just fucking fantastic. My sister got married, I’ve gotten a bigger handle on dealing with my anxiety (to the point where I sometimes wonder if its still around!), I’ve had some influential, wonderful teachers who’ve challenged me, I met said challenges and had one of my best academic years to date, and I’ve got a better vision of what I want to do in life.
Sounds fucking great to me.
2016 started just as well.
I met up with Sham, Safat, and Timothy and we got some Malaysian food until it was time to meet up with Bryan. We ended up getting to his house and kicking it way before the party even started (thank God we know his parents well or it could’ve been awkward). With some good food and wine, the night was looking promising. And then we got some Jose Cuervo, and we knew this night was gonna be great. It’s finally midnight, we’ve brought in the new year Alulema style, and its time to go to this SoHo party.
Short commute/long story short, that quickly became a dud. But we saw a lot of old faces from Tech and that’s always pleasant enough. Ended up headed to Spitzer’s, seeing the homie Keenan one time, and rocked the new year with some shots till about 4:30.
Made it back to Bryan’s. Knocked the fuck out and just chilled once we woke up. Ended up seeing Deanna after and went to her place for a few hours.
Pretty good first day 2016 — let’s see what else ya got.
