Everyone is looking for easy passive income nowadays. And if you are one of them then you must have realized by now that there is none other.

There are no easy passive ways to make money. You make money only when you work hard. With this in mind, I will be giving here tips and tricks that will help you get your first sale and reach your desired goal of making a full-time income.

This is for those who want to earn $100 to $1k a month.

  1. Maintain a steady profit margin — One of the best parts of using Redbubble to sell your artwork is that you can choose your own profit margin. All products on the platform have a base retail price, and most artists there set their profit at about 20% of that price. The price you set for your designs on Redbubble can change as your popularity grows. So if you want to earn more profit, then increase this profit margin. Note that not to increase this price too much. I prefer between 20% to 35%. I also kept my pricing at 40% but it decreased my sales.
  2. Choose the Best Available Format for Your Files — For me, the PNG format has transparent background and dimensions of 10000 x 10000. Use a high-resolution PNG or PDF file for items like t-shirts and hoodies (300 DPI). As an additional precaution against unintended color shifts during printing, create all your designs in CMYK color mode(default mode in Photoshop).
  3. Submit a Design regularly — Redbubble encourages updating your store with fresh artwork once a month. So coming up with something new once a month will help your store seem more dynamic and engaging to customers. I recommend uploading your art once or twice a week. I make my own design so once or twice a week is enough.
  4. Artwork on Trendy Topic/Niche — I have 90% evergreen designs. And the remaining 10% is in the Trendy niche. If you use Google Trends or another tool, you can discover what designs are trending right now, and you may base your designs on those niches.
  5. Niche is important — My Redbubble store has a niche. And if customers love one of my products, they will buy a new one as well. You may make a lot of money using the print-on-demand platform if you put some time into studying market trends and creating a distinct market niche. This method could encompass anything from catering to a certain demographic (like dog owners or Star Wars enthusiasts) to creating gender-specific versions of existing products.
  6. You can use social media marketing to advertise your Redbubble shop- Promoting your shop on social media is a great strategy to increase your store’s exposure and, ultimately, its revenue on Redbubble. I use Instagram and YouTube mostly. I have used Twitter in the past but I think it was getting too much so I stopped.
  7. Be Patient— It may take some time to establish yourself and begin receiving payment from Redbubble, so don’t give up if you don’t immediately see any traffic from Redbubble clients. Remember, I started my store in Jan and received my first payment in JUN. The amount was very small (around $30) but enough to encourage me to go further.

I run three Redbubble Stores and make money full-time. If you are interested in making money on Redbubble, then do check out my book The Redbubble Course.
