Many think that selling on Redbubble is difficult. I have three stores and I completely disagree!

I know the fee structure has changed but tell me a single platform that doesn’t want to make a profit? Some increase their fees and some introduce tiers. Some have fees to even make an account on their platform! Some have fees to list your items on their platform!

So now it’s up to us how we overcome all these obstacles.

I see that many artists are making their own stores and selling through their own websites. I cannot do this now due to other work commitments.

But I will like to keep this option open and so should you!

But today, I will be telling you my best tips for selling your awesome artwork on Redbubble. Consider this as a short guide.

What is Redbubble?

I hope by now you must have already heard about this biggest Print-on-demand website where artists can sell their artwork, and illustrations on various items. Some of the items I am listing here —

  1. Mugs
  2. tote bags
  3. Stickers (I sell a lot of stickers every single day!)
  4. Tshirts (my biggest earning source)
  5. Tapestries and so on.

This wesbite is smiliar to Society6, Zazzle, TeePublic and so on!

There is one thing that I like about Redbubble a lot and that is — they handle all the production, the shipping of the products, and customer services as well. It’s great that I don’t have to deal with any of them. Although the profit would have been more but hey! I make enough income so why bother with extra work? This gives me time to look after my other side hustles. So for me, it’s a win-win situation!

So in short, all you need is to upload your artwork and that’s it! They will look after the rest! I have three Redbubble stores so I do very much the same thing. Upload and forget! And still make money every single day. Yes, I do promote my work but that only a few times a week. Promotion takes a lot of time.

How I make 3-figure sales on Redbubble -

This I have been doing for two years now. My Redbubble account is even older than that but got a little discouraged when it was not doing good enough. So I stopped doing it completely and then came back with new energies and new ideas. Once I started making money on my first store, I opened two more!

So now I will quickly list down some awesome tips that has helped me to reach 3-figure sales (combined because I do this part-time now. Focusing more on Affiliate marketing!) -

  1. Always and always have 10,000 X 10,000-pixel dimensions. This is the only dimension that gives better resolution on all the items.
  2. Use Graphics plus text. I have artwork only with graphics or only with text as well. But my Graphics + Text combination sells the most.
  3. Use PNG images only. Keep the background transparent. My starting artwork wasn’t in PNG. It was after some time I realized that my customers could order in other colors as well! we don’t know what our customers will like. So I went back and changed the background. I made them transparent and save them with a .png extension. Now if you have a pattern or photography then you can use .jpeg or .jpg extension. No problem.
  4. I started with a 40% margin as my profit but believe me no one will buy at this rate. By default, it’s 20% which actually is very small but always makes good sales. I will advise you to keep it between 20% to 35% only. This has worked best for me.
  5. Tagging is important. My first account gets a numerous amount of free traffic because of the proper tagging. It’s less work and more income.

Conclusion

Redbbuble makes you a quick income. I have no doubt about it. But to make 3-figures every single month you have to be consistent. Work on your store every single day. Do good SEO. SEO is very important.

I run three Redbubble Stores and make money full-time. If you are interested in making money on Redbubble, then do check out my book The Redbubble Course.
