My Story

My name is Dylan Hill, I am a proud Wiradjuri man who has grown up in Dubbo for most of my life.
I was fortunate to move away from Dubbo at the age of 17 (2009) and live in Sydney whilst following my dream to play professional Rugby League. This dream was short lived due to multiple injuries and I moved back to my home country at the end of 2013.
Since moving back to Dubbo I have had multiple career changes and was always unsure on what i wanted to do with myself. In 2016 I was lucky enough to secure a SLSO job at South Dubbo Public School, this is where I discovered my passion for education.
Working with indigenous and non-indigenous students as an SLSO, I feel as though I can be a role model towards them and hopefully inspire them to better themselves through education. I believe by becoming a teacher I can contribute a lot more into their individual lives and better our future for the younger generations to come.
Doing this course is a stepping stone for myself to achieve these goals. I am excited about learning new things every day at University and I believe I can continue to better myself.
My quote is what I have lived by for the past few years, It is all about learning from the past, living your life to the fullest in the present, and having hope for the future.
