It is not a new thing that artificial intelligence has already conquered digital marketing in general and content marketing in particular.

Even though artificial intelligence is so developed in the area of digital marketing, what really happens is that there are many more improvements and changes, about which this article is about, are yet to come

Definition of Artificial Intelligence

Before talking about anything, it is important we understand what exactly artificial intelligence is.
Well, according to Techopedia, it is “an area of computer science that emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans. Some of the activities computers with artificial intelligence are designed for include: Speech recognition, learning, planning, and problem-solving.”

It is not a surprise that artificial intelligence, which is based on learning from data and using that data to perform new tasks, has already begun to make part of marketing. What we still do not know is how exactly it will be impacting content marketing?

More Personalized Content

One of artificial intelligence’s most incredible ability is to elaborate huge amounts of data and to use them in the right way. This could have a huge positive effect on content marketing and even marketing in general.

One of the abilities is that artificial intelligence helps content marketers understand exactly who they are targeting and this is, according to statistics, a very important thing due to the fact that at least 76% of consumers expect enterprises to understand their needs. This system is based on highly personalized customer’s experience and it is used in a lot of today’s famous online companies, such as Amazon or AliExpress.

It means that a certain website, thanks to artificial intelligence, helps you discover who exactly forms your audience, what other content they read, what content they prefer, and so on.

Create Better Content Marketing Strategy Thanks to Marketing Assistant

One of the services that artificial intelligence provides is marketing assistance. This is already heavily impacting content marketing and a great example is IBM Watson’s Lucy.

This tool is incredible intelligence and it is used by marketers to perform research, segmentation, and planning. The great thing is that it is able to do more in a minute than a whole team of marketers are able to do in months.

So, what system does artificial intelligence marketing assistant, like Lucy, use?

Lucy is able to elaborate all of the information your enterprise owns. Once all the information is elaborated, it is ready to answer any of your questions, no matter how complex they are, Lucy will be ready to help you. These are some of the questions:

  • What are the plans of my competitors?
  • What are the main personality traits of my audience?
  • What type of content should I make in order to achieve the maximum results?
  • What are the regions that I should target first?

In order to obtain the best strategy that will bring you optimal results, it is necessary to get answers to these questions, which is not an easy thing to do if you do not have a tool like Lucy which is ready to help you.

This is not everything Lucy is able to do! This marketing assistant provides these services, too:

  • It is able to help you create clear and complex segments of your target audience in order to create highly personalized content;
  • To help you plan your content marketing strategies using the system of elimination and verifying how other types of strategies would work within your business.

Will Artificial Intelligence Steal Content Writing Jobs?

Having read all this information, we may be a little bit scared. Will artificial intelligence steal our jobs?

If artificial intelligence is able to collect so much data and use them in the best way, can’t it also create written content better than a human can?

We will take an example of a short financial news story to create back in 2015. The name of this story is “Apple tops Street IQ forecasts” and, at the end of it, if you read carefully, you will see that the author is a robot journalist, i.e. Automated Insights.

Washington Post has more than 850 articles written by robot journalists and they continue to experiment with it, obtaining topnotch results.

Even though artificial intelligence is, obviously, able to create written content, but it does not necessarily mean that it will take over any content writing jobs. It exists to help you to free up your time and give you all the information that you need, while you may focus on other things, such as creating better content. Artificial intelligence can be used to do to easy tasks, while humans can focus on writing the more complicated and complex content.

Will Artificial Intelligence Take Over Content Marketing Jobs?

Obviously, artificial intelligence will quickly become a big part of digital, even bigger than it is now.
The present shows us clearly that artificial intelligence will have a real impact on content marketing. It will be able to create incredibly detailed marketing strategies based on huge amounts of data for generating content automatically. These are some of the reasons because of which marketers will start using artificial intelligence more and more in order to make easier everything they do.
