The place where I live doesn't have a 24*7 drinking water supply. Hence whenever the supply is on we need to shun every thing and fill all available utensils so that there is no shortage till next time water is supplied (which is mostly next morning). So we store water daily. Till few days back it was job of my mother. When she was sick, my father being an early bird, took the responsibility. Right after few days, my father started to store more water than usual, I noticed this change but didn't say anything…

After few days mom was feeling well, she went on to check how my my father is doing it. And she quickly noticed and addressed my father that he is not doing in proper manner.

Further she explained that it is not only about how much water you store but also about how and why you store… what feeling you have while you store…

She said that when my father stored large amount of water his intention was to store lesser amount of water next day while when she herself stored water her aim was to make water available for everybody including guests(which are refereed God in Indian culture). This makes her job a offering to GOD and my father’s work a job…

अभ्यासेऽप्यसमर्थोऽसि मत्कर्मपरमो भव |
मदर्थमपि कर्माणि कुर्वन्सिद्धिमवाप्स्यसि

the above verse is a shloka from GEETA in which Lord Krishna tells that us that if you perform your duties as an offering to me… you will attain the perfection…the above example of storing water was my mother’s way of worshiping the Lord and thus attaining perfection:)

I am offering my writing to Lord through all of you…

thus worshiping HIM and HOPE to attain perfection in it…
