I could see how this could be valuable for models with deep associations. As an avid user of a PHP framework trying to be an OOP language, in code that is more or less often than not “procedural”, keeping a function’s scope alive at the time of creation could allow web apps to do less joins in databases and keep data more atomic; using the functional programming to make simpler data calls.
