All I can say, for myself, is that you’re WAY overthinking this. Leia was sexy to us males long before the bikini, and even moreso after. It wasn’t her enslavement (which we were aghast at), but that she had the goods to pull OFF that bikini! (And, as your photo of “nerdy girls” shows, a whole LOT of women of all shapes, shades and sizes can also pull it off!) When she later offed Jabba while wearing that bikini was the brave, strong, awesome and empowered Leia we KNEW she was. I saw nothing of myself in Jabba. I was Han Solo; I got to fly away with Leia while Jabba’s barge exploded behind me. See, Leia is confident. Nothing is sexier than confidence; for men AND women.
