isnt “Technology” just human problem solving? A Neanderthal using a stick to pry loose rocks? Certainly our attempts to solve today’s issues have a tendency sometimes to create other problems elsewhere, but expecting humanity to willingly rein in technology seems unlikely.

Thinking about it most of today’s problems are more nearly related to population and one thing the original poster mentions but that you almost never hear anything about is controlling population growth.
