I really enjoy all of Lindsay Zoladz pieces, so I’m hesitant to even write this, but this whole article feels like a little bit of a stretch… sometimes, a vapid pop-star is just a vapid pop-star. Plastering an unconvincing facade over them in the hope that it will give them some additional depth can just as easily make them appear even more shallow.
