Oh, oh, I wish I had bookmarked an article I just read on this topic. One thing I remember was the discussion of how even the things men complain about and blame women for, like having to work more or go to war, they — themselves — as men, set those systems up. They wouldn’t let us work outside the home anyway. They wouldn’t let us go to war anyway. Yes, it sucks women get custody of children more often in divorce. It is still part of a male-dominated system where women have ultimate responsibility for children, so this is why this is the court’s default position. When men can be paid less because one day they might take paternity leave, then there is more equality. As how many men’s rights activists support the idea men get paid more since they never have to miss work to raise children. Okay, who’s enforcing these gender codes that result in our child custody outcomes?
