Why Looking for Editorial Work is So 2007, Which Isn’t a Bad Thing

Writer to writer, I’m right there with you. I had the lifelong dream to be a writer, but that’s what my mother called herself, and she never made a dime writing. I guess she still could. She’s 70 and in good health, but I digress.

I avoided writing until there was no other choice for me because of my health. So that was the signal from the universe I get to be a writer, right? 2016 is when I learned all the things about what is happening in writing as per your essay. I am technologically obsolete. I’m a grandma, trying to learn how to create a blog 15 years after every one established theirs.

Ha. Now, I am falling back on my PowerPoint skills to make graphics and charts for my pieces. I don’t think young people people use that. This is not fun. This is not what I hoped I’d find. But I am gaining acceptance of the parameters of writing for me. It’s not a surprise to me people have day jobs who write. I think those privileged people who make a decent living writing have tricks up their sleeve. You don’t lack for talent. I hope you keep doing what you’re doing.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
