You have to realize the whole Russian collusion idea is a “force fed” narrative onto the American, and global, populace thanks to a seemingly symbiotic relationship by a number of once “mainstream media” news organizations (i.e., CNN, The Washington Post, the New York Times, etc.) and other quasi- but overtly-partisan news organizations (i.e., HuffPost, Politico and, yes, ThinkProgress, which is run by the HRC campaign manager John Podesta-controlled Centre for American Progress and its related and inter-connected pro-HRC and pro-DNC super PACs).
Instead of realizing the DNC “fudged up” in a huge way by pandering to mega-metropolitan bicoastal interests instead of a cross-country, pan-American agenda, including stifling the populist, “Trump-esque” candidate of the left, Bernie Sanders, and trying to manufacture grassroots support for the well-heeled “big money” candidate in Hillary Clinton, they, and their inter-connected web of non-profits, paid political strategists and super PACs (including ThinkProgress) continue to deny that reality and not focus on rebuilding themselves from the ground up, by not taking the necessary steps like firing all the current members of the state Democratic party boards, reconstituting the state Democratic parties constitutions to allow true one-member, one-vote and putting strict contribution limits on primary campaigns and then banning/eliminating the so-called “super delegates,” which are anti-democratic (pardon the unintended pun!) — or at least weighting their vote to a maximum of 5% of the total votes cast at the Democratic national conventions.
They continue to try to deny that reality, obstruct in every way imaginable, oblivious to the so obvious hypocrisy of them criticizing the Republicans for obstructing during the “debt ceiling” and budgetary debates of former President Obama’s second term. The congressional, blatantly partisan congressional debates and investigations need to end, full stop, and the US special prosecutor, Robert Mueller, must be allowed to continue through his investigation in accordance with the terms of reference instructed upon him by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. I’ve seen that, time and again, congressional investigations into political “actors” never yield any results and just seek to stymie and obstruct.
They’re not realizing it but, I believe, they’re actually solidifying a second Trump term and growing the number of Republicans in the US Senate in 2018, given the greater number of Democratic senators up for re-election in the 2018 election cycle, that, I suspect, will likely produce a Republican House of Representatives about 5–10 seats higher, a 60+ seat Republican controlled US Senate, allowing for the blocking of filibustres and we’re also quite likely to see two thirds of the US state legislatures (and maybe even governors!) as Republican for that obstruction. They ought to be careful for the “bed they make” as they’re likely “sewing the seeds” for a potential easy passage of, potentially, one (or more!) amendments to the US Constitution! ;)
Oh, and for the record, I’m a Canadian, politically left of centre who supported both Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary campaign but switched to Jill Stein and then concluded with being a Donald J. Trump supporter, not because I agree with all of his politics or policies but for democracy.
Cheers,
Doug
