I switched to Angular at 1.2 version, so please, Angular-experts, correct me if I am wrong. In text below: Angular === AngularJS 1.x.
History of SPA frameworks: AngularJS 1.x and nostalgia.

It seems, unfortunately, common to say “Angular” to mean “Angular 2”.

Perhaps, for marketing purposes, to capitalize on Angular’s popularity? :)

And then “AngularJS” should mean “Angular 1”. As if “Angular 2” is no JS?

Seriously, I say “Balrog 1” to mean version 1, and “Balrog x” to mean version x. And “Balrog” to refer to any version.

No need to change common language conventions :)
