Perhaps one of the best monographs on the F-4 is Phantom Over Vietnam by John Trotti. A great read of inspired writing about a wonderful aircraft and the men that flew them. From a Marine’s perspective no less!

There was a short video of a YF-16 launching simultaneously with an F-4. An aft facing camera from the ‘16’ records the take off. Before the F-4 had even rotated off the deck the future Viper was nearly vertical over the runway. This was a marketing video by General Dynamics…and it made its point.
