Don’t think of learning English as happening only in the classroom. You can learn English all day, every day. Here we have some ideas for your enjoyable, effective English practice during weekend.

Yay another Friday has come! What are you doing this weekend? Whatever you’ve got planned, don’t forget to learn English even when you are outside the classroom. Learning English can happen all day, every day, if you make the effort. But how can we practise while having fun this weekend? We have some ideas!

1. Treat yourself to great songs

Listening to music is a fun and easy way to improve your English. You can either enjoy listening to songs on your warm, cozy bed or hang out with your friends over Karaoke. Karaoke is a fantastic way, not just to relieve stress but to help with your English practice.

2. Review what you’ve learnt

Warm your stomach with a hot cup of tea and enrich your mind with knowledge. Just sit down with the notes you took in class this week. Check how many new words you have remembered, and try writing sentences using some of these new words.

3. Host a movie night

4. Enjoy reading

Reading is another pleasant, effective way to develop your English language skills. Choose something that you are interested in and read about it. Find books, magazines or newspaper articles that suit your current level of English. Why not ask your teacher for some suggestions?

5. Explore the city

Explore Sydney on a budget while improving your English skills in social situations. There’s heaps to see and do in the city this winter. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for directions. People from Sydney are known for being friendly and willing to lend you a hand if they can. Just strike up a conversation with a local and perhaps get some insider tips on the surroundings. For example, ask them for their favourite restaurant nearby and to tell you why they love it.
