Every day, Wu posts very attractive pictures of cats on his Weibo or personal Wechat account under the name @staymiao (cats that never stop). Below each photo are small stories with captions to the subject. He has about 130,000 followers on Weibo.

Wu not only has keen eyes to help find cats hidden deep in the nooks and crannies, he is also an expert in cats. Wu can guess exactly what a cat is just from a glance.

On April 18, Wu captured the rare moment of two cats jumping from building to building in identical posture. Chinese netizens considered the photo a sign of luck and was quickly shared 20,000 times.

In addition, the photo of a family of cats living inside the ancient city walls in Nanjing also resonates with each other. Since 2012, Wu has taken more than 20,000 pictures of cats. Call it city cats because most of them are in Shanghai and other neighboring cities.

Wu was originally from Anji, a county in Zhejiang, famous for the bamboo forest that appeared in “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon”. He graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University and worked for 10 years as a design engineer in Shanghai.

When he was an engineer, Wu mostly took portrait photos in his spare time. In October 2012, when he stumbled across a stray cat at work, Wu fell in love with a cat photo.

“I was quite surprised because the stray cat did not run away. I fed it, it immediately lay there obediently,” Wu recalls.
“A week later, she forgave two kittens, I kept them too, since then I found that the cats are also very cute”.

Wu and his colleagues are very fond of cats, and they often take pictures of them.
“We have the right environment, there are many fruit trees around the office building. It is quite safe for the cats, the rules here are very strict,” Wu said. Since then, Wu has devoted himself to photographing cats on the street.

Sometimes, Wu and his colleagues have brought feral cats in the area, and so far they have more than 10 cats.

Sometimes with overtime, Wu sees cats in the trees and thinks they are owls.

Gradually, Wu took pictures of cats as a way to relax and get rid of work stress. Fumbling for photos of cats has taken Wu to places he has never been to.

“Sometimes I dream of a beautiful place that I have never visited, when I take my camera and shoot, I wake up.”
Wu once adopted a cat, named it Bomb and sent it to his family in An Cat.
Wu photographed cats for 5 years as a habit, before turning into a new path: Photography.

“I’ve been working for 10 years, I want to take the time to travel.” He said, “I found a love in the photography of cats, I wanted to turn that passion into a career.”
