I disagree as philosopher and as a person.
We can read Plato and others, but in the end the only certaty is: we feel, seek and see the world diferently from each other human.
Sure, empathy make us agree in some point, but in the end of day nothing is one only thing.
Love for a italian couple of 70 years marriage that I met is daydream in each other, actually is everything that you point as NO love yet — And God, they are so cutte - thats their truth.
For me, almost 10 years of marriage with a beautiful baby boy, love was NEVER a choice. Love found me and when I got to myself I saw that was walking side by side without fear. Sure for me I got a choice of a relationship (in some point) but NEVER could choose about love.
Maybe for you TO LOVE is a choice, but this is not a unique truth.
