  • Triosmy-21 chromosome.
  • A chromosomal mutation is brought on by chromosome breaking and translocation of a fragment into the healthy chromosome.
  • Standard and translocation of down syndrome.
  • A third variety is referred to as mosaic and is a milder variation with some normal and abnormal cells mixed in.
  • Trisomy 21 affects approximately 95% of individuals with Down syndrome.
  • About 3% of those with Down syndrome have translocations, which is a very tiny rate.
  • About 2% of individuals with Down syndrome have mosaic Down syndrome.
  • Children with mosaic will be less impaired and disabled and have normal intellect.
  • Brains are lighter than normal.
  • Brainstem and cerebellum are lighter than normal.
  • Cortex's smaller convolutions.
