What is a biography essay?

This particular type of essay writing is mainly focused on highlighting key aspects of a famous personality, say a historical ruler, a famous actor, activist or anyone who has made a significant contribution to the world and has achieved recognition in exchange. The purpose of such essays is to notify readers of interesting facts about the particular person’s life and achievements and even include something that people might have never heard before.

Let’s get into the step-by-step method of how you can write a perfect biographical essay

  1. Pick Subject- First and foremost, before you start your biographical essay writing make sure you pick out your subject which in this case would be a famous personality. Before you choose someone make sure you have a brief idea about this person and he/she isn’t an alien concept to you. Having familiarity with your subject aids you better in the next step which is research.
  2. Research on topic- Research is the ultimate way of starting any essay or research paper, because clearly without finding out facts you cannot make assumptions on your college paper especially about a famous personality. After you have chose a person you would be writing your essay on, jot down some crucial aspects based on which you will carry forwards your research. Initially researching can be very overwhelming and hence put you off the track, therefore making pointers will guide you pretty well. In this case for example, you can start with the person’s ‘Early Life’, ‘childhood; ‘education’, ‘Work life’, ‘Personal life’, ‘Achievements’, ‘Awards received’ and so on.
  3. Gather research material- After each step of your research is complete, compile your finding and organize them separately. This way you will realize which information should go in your essay writing and which are the ones you can easily omit. While doing any research paper writing, you have to maintain a certain word-limit, which means you have to be careful about what you are putting in your essays and how important they are. This depends on induvial judgement
  4. Form a blue print- After you have compiled your data make sure you create an outline for your essay. Having a blue print in essay writing allows you to make changes at any step of the way without having a writer’s block and disrupting your flow.
  5. Develop a thesis statement- Although the subject of your essay is the famous personality you are writing about, but the basic aspect that Is reflected in your essay about that particular person should be highlighted. This is called the thesis statement or the mission statement (in research paper). The thesis statement will guide your essay writing and allow the readers to understand the basic concept of your entire essay

For example- Marylin Monroe’s care free nature was a blessing in disguise as it allowed her to achieve fame and fortune but at the same time became the crux of her self-destructive habits.

  1. Separate into paragraphs- Having a big single paragraph in your essay writing is a complete throw off for any reader. It is the perfect way of confusing the reader and resulting into a very bad impression. Always make sure you organize your essay into three main paras, i.e.; Introduction, Body and Conclusion. You maybe wondering “How can I write my essay in just three paragraphs?”, well, an essay is not confined to three paras you can always sub paragraph any part of you Introduction, Body and conclusion, in fact the main idea behind each para is to reflect a new idea of concept, hence the more you paragraph your essay relevantly, the more easy it becomes for the reader to follow.
  2. Conclusion- The reason why conclusion requires an induvial point is because it is a very important part of any essay writing or research paper, no matter what the type. The conclusion of your essay drives the reader to completely solidify their opinions on your writing and research. The conclusion should answer to all the questions raised by you in the thesis statement and provide an answer book to your reader. It should not be flustered and confusing and should focus on the facts and your individual opinion of what your wanted to achieve through this paper.

The best essays come from a strong research base and decent enough writing skills, when it comes to biography essay writing you should be able to give the readers a point of view they never expected. That will certainly make your essay unique
