This looks like a great explanation but, with all respect, I’m concerned that this article encourages wasted learning. Using floats for anything beyond basic wrapping of text around a block is a hack that’s been obsolete for many years now, the now wide support of flexbox being the final nail in the coffin.

Prove me wrong. Try coming up with a layout that you can only effectively build with floats.
