Dolores Cannon on Jesus, Religion and Spirituality — Dolores Cannon
Many people wonder what Dolores Cannon’s religious and spiritual beliefs were. She raised me and her other children as Christians, and Dolores even sang in the church choir and volunteered to help at Sunday School, but maybe it makes more sense to say her religion was curiosity. She wanted to know it all!
One of Dolores’s first books, Jesus and the Essenes, came about through past life regression when she used her Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique℠(QHHT®) to induce a deep somnambulistic state of hypnosis in a subject called Katie during many sessions over a period of a year.
In Jesus and the Essenes, Dolores wrote, “As I took Katie slowly back we had uncovered 26 separate lives by the time we came to the beginning of the Christian era. The many lives seemed to be equally divided between male and female, rich and poor, intelligent and uneducated. Each one was filled with a wealth of detail about the religious dogma and cultural customs of the times. I am positive even a scholar trained in history and anthropology could not have come up with the incredible detail she gave us. No, this knowledge was coming from somewhere else. I believe she actually lived all these lives and the knowledge had remained hidden in the vast computer called the ‘subconscious mind.’”
Dolores continued: “When I found there was a possibility that the entity we had come upon could give information about the life of Christ, I thought it was important to stay with that time period and see what would emerge. I had no idea where the experiment was leading or if anything of value would come forth. But on the slightest chance something could be found, I stopped taking her back and kept returning to the life of Suddi, one of Jesus’s Essene teachers, to get more information. We stayed with this life for thirteen sessions over three months.”
The information Dolores discovered in her sessions with Katie was amazing. When the personality called Suddi first emerged he was on his way to Nazareth. He had such a strong accent it was difficult to understand him. He belonged to a secretive group called the Essenes in a placed called Qumran. The sessions eventually went into elaborate detail about the Essenes’ strict religious laws and teachings of the Torah, and finally to Jesus, the man who became the Messiah.
For Dolores this was the adventure of a lifetime and in no way changed her faith, even though information was revealed that contradicted beliefs in Christianity, such as the Virgin Birth. For Katie, being the vehicle for such astounding and controversial information about religion proved to be difficult. The knowledge about the true life of Jesus and his teachings revealed to Dolores and now the world only strengthened her belief in spirituality and a benevolent, loving God.
