Where were you born Drey?

I was born in Montclair, New Jersey

which is pretty much a diverse relatively quiet town and most people consider the local residents to be bourgeois. I went to Montclair High.

What was the first brand of clothing you purchased with your own hard earned cash?

The first brand of clothing I purchased with my own money was Cross Colours

as well as Nike footwear in high school. I had this yellow & blue outfit that made me look like a superhero.

What was the first piece of clothing you designed?

I had a business partner in ‘96 and we came up with a concept for a brand called “Neu Jurzi Gear”. We designed t-shirts, jackets, stickers and an airbrushed banner. The idea came and went.

Tell the world your mission statement behind your brand!

The mission statement behind Rhorie Drey Brand is to promote self-empowerment no matter what walk-of-life you come from. As long as you are not hurting anyone, don’t give into conformity and to be a freethinker (someone who is able to look at things from all angles).

What female ( model/artist/celebrity) would you love to support you and your brand?

Beyonce’. She is what I’d like to call “fashion articulate” because her style is on-point and she has impeccable taste.

What male ( model/artist/celebrity) would you love to support you and your brand?

Jay Z. He is the epitome’ of what a tastemaker is when it comes to men’s fashion and has a great influence on trends.

What is your favourite colour?

I would have to say “blue”.

What was your hardest hurdle you had to get through to get to the point your at?

The most difficult hurdle is maintaining consistency and being able to look at setbacks as actual steps forward.

In your own words. What is a great evening outfit for a man going on a date?

Depending on the situation, either a nice button-up, slacks or khakis and dress shoes then you have a nice tailored suit (preferably) for a special event or showcase.

What is your most favourite shoe out of your brand?

I’m really digging the “Midnights”

because they almost go with everything, plus I like the name I created for them. The name is unique for a shoe.
