I’ve just stumbled across this. I can feel your pain.
While we’re in no way hitting the same amount of $ regarding the usage price, but we’re hitting it pretty high for fairly basic and trivial things.
The main culprit here is the storage they provide. And I’m not even talking about datastore, but rather just your regular storage where we keep our publicly accessible scripts. Their pricing on cache invalidation and generally serving the data to users seems to be steep, for a fairly small startup. In my case anyways.
However, I’ve checked other solutions, and we turned up similar numbers.
I still kinda would love to know what you’ve done that you’ve been doing double digits in regards to the monthly costs.
The storage and splitting it throughout regions seems to account for most of the costs.
Though oddly enough, the server itself seems to go pretty much toe to toe, regardless of how minimal the operations are.
What I presume, at this time, is that monolithic code heavy on traffic would cause this. Though I’m really skeptical of this statement myself.
