Jokowi visited Balige, Leo won Oscar and here is the way they correspondent.

Welcome, Mr. President!
Today Mr. President Jokowi working visit to Balige in North Sumatra on Tuesday (1/3) morning to review the preparedness for the development Lake Toba tourist destination. As a follow up of the limited meeting dated February 2, 2016 at the Presidential Office, the move is, whether politically charged or not, in my opinion, done at the right moment.
As a series of three-day trip in Sumatra, he visited the priority tourist destination National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) Lake Toba. Upon arrival at the International Airport Kualanamu, Deli Serdang regency by using Indonesian Presidential Aircraft-1, he and his entourage changed planes by using CN-295 to the airport Silangit, North Tapanuli and continue the journey to Lake Toba with driving a car. In the afternoon, the President and his companies will be heading Medan for overnight.
A travel package will then include a visit to Takengon for the inauguration of the airport service of Rembele — Takengon, Aceh Province and to review the development of infrastructure in South Sumatra.
It is clear that this move is not merely a political move but also a very good marketing action. After the resistance of the office holders in seven local districts about development of Lake Toba, anything done or discussed, with a short visit, Jokowi has started to win the hearts of the “local kings”.
Not only that this demonstrated his capacity as chief (president) who heads the chiefs of smaller (from the district governments, the “hampung” or head of the village to the “maujana” or elder local custom), the soul of marketing has produced effects expected, and a few moments later appeared confident tweet updates from @jokowi account as follows:
“Membanggakan. Tujuh bupati sepakat membangun Danau Toba. Toba akan jadi tujuan wisata dunia -Jkw”
Clearly, it’s a good step for the acquisition of land and other heavyweight actions that often haunt every agenda of infrastructure development and the development of tourism in different parts of the archipelago. For lovers of hot coffee and the morning paper today like me, so obviously this is enough reason to smile inwardly.
“Yesss … Jokowi already come, things will get done”, said the businessmen who see bright prospects in the tourism industry.
Or:
“Horas ma in Amang Jokowi !!! Horas ma muse tu na laho parsakkap numbers padengganhon nets paulihon Tao Toba i !!! “, shouted small people like me who — because we do not have any knowledge in the tourism business — just hope that the concept of Sustainable and Holistic Ecotourism is maintained.
(Approximately mean: Welcome, Mr. President!. Congratulations also for all the good intentions of promoting and maintaining the beauty of Lake Toba).
Another “Horas” greeting from Leo
Of course, Leonardo did not greet “Horas” when he received an Oscar for his role as Hugh Glass at Revenant movie. In addition, he is not a a man with Toba-Batak ethnicity that used to say “Horas” when welcoming guests. Leonardo, Hollywood actor, has just won the Oscar for Best Actor, Best Director and Best Picture. The interesting point, however, which did not escape the attention of the public is an ecological message he delivered.
For me, it deserves to be the Best Message as well.
As quoted from Oscar, Leo text to speech after he received the trophy original reads as follows.
Thank you all so very much. Thank you to the Academy, thank you to all of you in this room. I have to congratulate the other nomineesthis incredible year for Reviews their unbelievable performances. The Revenant was the product of the Tireless Efforts of an unbelievable cast and crew I got to work alongside. First off, to my brother in this endeavor, Mr. Tom Hardy. Tom, your fierce talent on screen can only be surpassed by your friendship off screen. To Mr. Alejandro Innaritu, as the history of cinema unfolds, you have forged your way into history Reviews These past 2 years … thank you for creating a transcendent cinematic experience. Thank you to everybody at Fox and New Regency … my entire team. I have to thank everyone from the very onset of my career … to Mr. Jones for casting me in my first movie to Mr. Scorsese for teaching me so much about the cinematic art form. To my parents, none of this would be possible without you. And to my friends, I love you Dearly, you know who you are.
And lastly I just want to say this: Making The Revenant was about man’s relationship to the natural world. A world that Collectively we felt in 2015 as the hottest year in recorded history. Our production needed to move to the southern tip of this planet just to be Able to find snow. Climate change is real, it is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work together and stop procrastinating Collectively. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous people of the world, for the billions and billions of underprivileged people out there who would be most affected by this , For our children’s children, and for Reviews those people out there Whose voices have been Drowned out by the politics of greed. I thank you all for this amazing award tonight. Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take for granted tonight. Thank you so very much.
The first paragraph is a many thank you’s to all who took part in making the film. The second paragraph to convey the message that I mean.
Just like the message of Pope Francis on Laudato Si, second encyclical with the far richer understanding of ecological content , for me the message Leonardo Di Caprio has delivered fairly represent millions of people in Indonesia who wanted archipelago to be built, promoted, and at the same time maintained for social justice for all people, not only for corporations or other actors (who do not think twice to sacrifice sustainable ecotourisme for the sake of sustainable corporate income).
This is the real “horas” greeting that I mean. Not just a lip service but also a hopeful expression for anyone who receives this greeting. It is co-incidental that these two great occasions occur at the same time: the arrival of Jokowi to the area of Lake Toba (so pity that he only had time for Balige, meanwhile, there are a lot more places deserve his honorable visit thanks to the richness of natural beauty and abundant treasures of wisdom and culture of the local population), and the message of my appara (brother) Leo at an Oscar award night.
Well, Leo’s greeting has brought a hight and important message from millions of people who love and care about sustainable and holistic development of Lake Toba and the people who dwell there. Currently, the greeting was addressed to Mr. Jokowi. In this case, I’m with Leo.
