I’m torn. This is probably a win for Star Wars fans and the general success of this movie, but its a real loss for the possible critical success of the movie. After the failings of Suicide Squad and possibly Fantastic Four, I am hesitant to hear about studios trying to cram a feel into a movie based on the success or failure of prior movies. Best case scenario is that critics will see a fun Star Wars movie with silly droids and catching one line zings with a deep streak of grim sadness and will wonder what the movie could have been. That wonder is going to piss a lot of people off just because thats human nature.
