The Suspicious Timing Of Hope Solo’s Six Month Suspension

I think the author’s premise for Hope Solo’s release from her contract may be a bit of an overreach. Whereas Solo’s actions in her personal life are strictly that, her public statements after the U.S. loss brings negative attention to her as a employee of the U.S. organization.
To make such statements that display a lack of sport sophistication at an international event is, at best, quite boorish. Mr. Nichol’s wonders, “whether this action would have been taken against a male player or coach, who, in the heated moments after a frustrating defeat, questioned the tactics of the opposing team” is a poor attempt at deflecting responsibility from the coaching staff, the players and Solo.
