You don’t need Everybody!

You have heard people say you need people to rise. This is true. If you want to go fast, you go alone but if you want to go far, you go with people. There is a major place for teamwork, partnership and cooperation in our rise to fulfillment.

There are over seven billion people in the world currently and it would be insane to believe that we are meant to work with everyone. This is not possible. The fact that we need to work with people stands but not everyone is meant to work with you. The more you grow, the more you will realize that some people will only come around to basically waste your time. They are not necessarily bad guys, they might even have good intentions but in the line of your pace, growth and purpose, they are irrelevant.

You need to discern these people and cut them off, or at worst, put a leash on how much they can influence you. This is a major reason people are stagnant today. We keep so many people around. People that are doing more harm than good to our development without us knowing it.

Who is that friend whose encounter you always regret afterwards? Perhaps it is that man that just happens to call you to come over just when you want to read a book or study or those ‘besties’ that drag you out to shopping always — without regard for your activities. These people may be difficult to cut off, but if you value your life and your rise, you need to do what is necessary and most times, the necessary thing is the difficult one.

Do not get me wrong, you need people but you do not need everybody, not every time. You cannot make everybody happy. No matter how just your cause is, someone will take offence. If this is the case, then why do you feel the need and pressure to please everyone?

Kings will not request an audience with you until you have proved yourself worthy. They value their time. If you want to rise to the top, you need to value your time. Dedicate yourself to discipline and development. You will find the right people for you on that path and you will rise together!
