Wanting something so desperately doesn’t mean you’re going to get it. Sometimes it’s not even in your control.

Nothing like a brew to reflect on a week well done.

I want, so desperately, to be the person that doesn’t have to think about what they are eating but still looks good. I make the assumption based on my own experience that because they don’t carry the extra weight they feel better than I do. Comfortable.

However, wanting something doesn’t mean you get it. Haven’t our parents always told us that? If you want something, work for it. So last week I decided I wanted it enough to work for it and work I did!

With the exception of the BBQ day I stayed within my syn allowance. I did my body magic on five days accruing over 3.5hrs of exercise through walking and dancing. I managed a 6lb weight loss and I’m chuffed to bits, I don’t normally lose that much in week 1. I’ve never had a big first week weight loss that occurs for most in their first week. I was chuffed with this and I’m more determined to do well this week even though I know the lose will likely fall to the 2–3lb mark.

So week one was a success I ate chocolate I went to a BBQ and I lost 6lbs. I didn’t really miss anything but then it’s only been a week and I’ve been careful to control my environment to ensure temptation wasn’t shoved in my face.

I was congratulated by a friend early on my loss. I told her it was great but I wasn’t to worried about being able to lose the weight as slimming world had been successful for me before. It was the challenge of maintaining that was and will be the really hard part. Learning, that I need to maintain this way of eating as my everyday and only being off plan for the odd meal is so difficult.

Weight is a creeper it’s like a cat that’s been told off, creeping onto your lap while you’re watching telly. Before you know it the cat's been snoozing for ten minutes and your lap is covered in cat hair. And then your stuck under a cat.

That’s what my weight did over the last 18months and now I’m stuck under an extra 22lbs, 16lbs now. I need to discover how to avoid falling into the comfort zone this time.
