An insult to one of us is an insult to all of us
You make a very important point that I rarely hear anyone ever say. For people to imply that a woman’s life is meaningless if she doesn’t have children is also an insult to mothers. It implies that the only meaningful thing a woman can do is raise kids.
When I was a kid (and even now) I was very proud of my mother for being a train driver because I realized she had more to offer the world than just raising kids. She was responsible for the safety of hundreds of people every day. I was glad to know the the people who rode that train could appreciate her just as much as I did.
