Who Are You?

Great question right? I don’t know about you, but this one is a tough one for me and one that I have been really starting to explore. There is a lot to break down with this question, but for now I want to keep it simple. I am in the process of starting a business(maybe), creating what that will look like and what I want to do and say. Sounds fairly straight forward, right?

Well, I am learning that in order to know what I want to say, I kind of have to know who I am. Who I am will play a role in how I present myself; whether in business or in my personal life. I want to live in a way that expresses the gifts I was given, as well as the experiences given to me so that I may encourage others along the way. I believe that when we are expressing ourselves in this way, that will live more fulfilled and therefore be open to those who would be put 0n our path.

This process has been so insightful for me because I am older now and not only did I tap into who I was as a child, but who am I now, what has shaped me and what are my core beliefs; what keeps me grounded and in touch with myself and those around me. For me, undoubtebly what grounds me is my faith. Even though as a child, my experience with God was disconnected, my inner instinct told me otherwise. I have come to have a much more personal relationship with a God that used to be a far away notion.

Each one of us have been created so uniquely and getting in touch with our inner selves connects us with the part of us that is connected with a part of God. For me, this has reinforced getting in touch with the gifts that were given to me; the ones that I feel strongly and the ones I can’t ignore.

Have you found that you feel disconnected and are just going thru life. Remember who you were as a child? Remember what it was like to just play, or to use your imagination? Remember how good it feels to laugh? to help someone in need? to hold a paint brush or sketch with a pencil? to organize an event? to sing out loud? to play an instrument? to make something with your hands? to teach someone? What ever it was……remember that thing that lights you up and start to do it again. Even if you only have a small amount of time to dedicate to it…do it, you will not be disappointed.

In love and sharing our gifts,

Donna
