I liked this article and the information it supplies to prepare us for the future. But I feel that it is short-sighted and does not go far enough in terms of considering related areas.

What will all of these people do who no longer are working? Even with a guaranteed income, these folks need something to fill their time. For me, this suggests we need to bolster the entertainment industry.

How does the future economy interface with digital currencies like the bitcoin, which is very likely to play a major factor in economics and community provided governments and corporations do not regulate the internet to death.

How does this all fit in with what Johanna Macy calls The Great Turning? This is the turning from the industrial-pollution-economic scarcity times to those of sustainability, community, and abundance for all.
