Alan Pyke is arguing that people should receive SNAP benefits even if their application — listing their household size, their income, and their expenses — says they should not qualify for SNAP benefits. If they are qualified for a free phone, or heating assistance, or anything else, they are supposed to get SNAP benefits, too, “just because”. That makes it “easier” for state employees because they do not have to actually look on a “case-by-case basis” to see if a household is qualified. That logic might be why the cost of feeding the poor and the “sort-of-poor” to taxpayers went up 100% in ten years and refuses to go down despite Obama’s “Great Recovery.” And somehow, Republicans who say SNAP benefits should only go to people who QUALIFY for SNAP benefits is mean spirited. You want mean spirited, read the hatefulness of the liberals commenting on this.
