I admit GCHQ threw me. Good writing follows the protocol I mentioned and isn’t lazy. Good writers wouldn’t want a reader to think, “Now what is that?” and then look back up to see where the writer followed the protocol. This writer is just lazy, that’s all, and I’m glad it doesn’t bother you. It does me. He’s just lazy.
