Chance the Rapper’s Doppels Day Party Raises $100,000 for Charity
On Sunday (April 16), Chance the Rapper celebrated his 24th birthday by giving back to those in need. While partying at Studio Paris Nightclub in Chicago, Chance raised over $100,000 for his charity SocialWorks, Billboard can confirm.
SocialWorks caters to the empowerment of the youth through the arts, education, and civil engineering. Tickets were reportedly being sold last week from $100-$2500. Despite the steep prices, avid Chance fans were able to see their favorite rapper in action along with performances by Ludacris and T-Pain.
“The night was a huge success with Chance’s ability to rally the community to donate for a great cause,” said managing partner of Studio Paris, R.J. Melman to Page Six. “We are proud to play a part in it and are honored to have been chosen by Chance as the place to throw his party.”
Chance also had a huge cake to bring in his 24th birthday. The cake was designed to look like a Harold’s Chicken Shack bucket with a strawberry Mistic alongside it.
In addition to SocialWorks, Chance launched the New Chance Arts and Literature Fund last month to aide Chicago public schools. His initiative came shortly after he made a hefty $1 million donation to his hometown’s public school system.
