One other advantage of a single monitor on Windows is that alt-tab task switching works much more reliably.
And (again, Windows) you don’t get awful scaling issues if you have screens with different DPI ratings. Microsoft appears to be unable to fix this.
Like you, I prefer a single screen. The only time it’s a disadvantage is debugging browser apps where screen space becomes very limited.
