Divided by meaning

What is also interesting is what we might call the middle road. Those that left the back row behind in the last generation and are within spitting distance of the front row. They live amidst and on the fringes of the front row but haven’t quite the education, white collar job or income to claim a seat. They also fear sliding back. They feel they should be closer to the front and the programs that benefit the vulnerable who are “other” than they are have come at their expense. These are the Trump followers who are the most difficult for this Front Row denizen to understand. Their lives are solid, they have homes, jobs, pensions and college educated children. Yet they hate Obama and feel he took something from them. Something that is keeping them a grasp away from the brass ring. These aren’t Deplorables. But they are endorsing deplorable positions. This is our middle class we must find a way to refranchise.
