I love repairing things. I’ve spent the first few weeks of 2017 darning all the holes in my socks. A couple years ago I took some jackets to be relined after their lining had shredded. It was pricey, but I‘m more happy to spend ~$200 on having 3 coats I own repaired and giving the money to a neighbourhood person with a trade, rather than giving that $200 to Macy’s or the GAP for a replacement.

But also: am I reading this right — did you buy a watch for the clock repair guy?
