Great comment! That’s a common argument that I hear and it’s certainly valid. I think it depends on your customers: do you use platform-specific UX or a consistent UX? I could be wrong, but I feel like the largest, most popular brands have been choosing “consistent” (aka similar) UX lately — such as Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter. Not saying they are correct, but it is a pattern I’m noticing. You can call it lazy, but there’s something to be said about the customer experience moving fluidly between desktop, mobile, switching from Android to iOS and not having to relearn the UI.
