Dot Dot’s staking features are built to be streamlined, but there are still some key components to memorize and consider.

So.. let’s spare the big intro and dive right in!

dEPX: Staked EPX (Ellipsis 2.0 Token), Step-by-Step:

  1. Epoch Period- dEPX staking uses the regular epoch week, Thursday @ 00:00 UTC.
  2. Fee Distribution- Fees distributed to dEPX accumulate throughout the week, and are paid out the following week. Because Ellipsis also has a 1-week delay in fee distribution, this means there is actually a 2-week delay on dEPX.
  3. 8 Days to Unstake- To avoid users withdrawing without earning fees, devs have made unstaking unavailable for 8 days. This ensures you actually earn something while using the protocol.
  4. 24 Hour Deposit Cycle- The lock period rolls over every 24 hours, starting at 00:00
→Lock at 01:00? Withdraw is available in 7 days, 23 hours.
→Lock at 23:00? Withdraw is available in 7 days, 1 hour.
  5. 15 day Streaming Withdrawal- If you decide to withdraw, your earnings immediately cease, and you receive your deposit linearly over the course of 15 days. Any new withdrawals are merged with previous withdrawals.
  6. 23 Day Minimum Lock- Because of the 8 day unstaking restriction + the 15 day streaming withdrawal, the minimum time until dEPX is fully withdrawn works out to 23 days.

DDD: Locking Dot Dot’s Native Token, Step-by-Step:

  1. Epoch Period- DDD’s epoch begins on Monday @ 00:00 UTC. This period earlier in the week allows the team to calculate the ratio of EPX:DDD votes.
  2. Voting Period- The number of votes a user has is based on the user’s DDD staked balance on Monday @ 00:00 UTC. From there, the voting period runs for 3 days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Make sure to vote within this timeframe!
  3. Incentive #1: dEPX- dEPX incentives go Monday-Monday, 00:00 UTC, accumulating through the week, and are released the following week, over time.
  4. Incentive #2: Bribes- Bribes go Thursday-Thursday, 00:00 UTC. They are paid out immediately on Thursday @ 00:00 UTC, when votes close.

Dot Dot’s system, while based on Curve and Convex, has a few key differences. Keep this guide handy to ensure your EPX/DDD knowledge is sharp! Until next time..
