Despite the law change, I would still remain cautious about that whole talking salary thing. Companies are still allowed to fire you for ‘disrupting’ the work environment or whatever they want to call it, regardless of whether you think you’re in the right or not.

Also, salary is one of those topics where its easy for incomplete knowledge to cause a ton of trouble. If you want to bring it up as a point of discussion with your peers or supervisor, make sure you’ve done your due diligence and aren’t turning the discussion into an unfounded accusation.
