I don’t think the ethics are an issue. BillFixers only calls when requested by their customers and it shouldn’t make a difference to the companies that issued the bill whether they’re dealing with the principle on the account or somebody authorized to act as the principle’s agent.
I’d probably use BillFixers because 1.) it truly is a pain in the butt to deal with many companies and 2.) BillFixers can likely drive a better end result since their experience means that they likely have a very good idea of what can be achieved and they probably have a better idea of who can actually make the decisions.
One question to the author…not sure I understand the logic of saying a more expensive bill is beneficial to your taxes? At the end of the day, I would think that lower expenses are always preferable to higher? Sure, a lower expense means that you’ll pay higher taxes but net, shouldn’t it still work out better for you (unless you’re taxed at over 100%)?
