Uhhh . . . what about the Wall Street Journal doesn’t fit this bill? Its content is solidly centrist with a rightward lean, it has expanded its subject matter to more general interest and politics, and it has the talent and the capital to meet this need. (And, by the way, the outlet IS going to be headquartered on the east coast, so all you flatlanders — and I’m one of you — can quit yer bellyaching about it. The reason it will is the same reason why Dillinger robbed banks: that’s where the money is.)
